About CAMRI

Centre for Advanced MRI (CAMRI) is an Auckland UniServices Ltd (AUL) Business Unit with Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.

CAMRI is the first MRI facility in New Zealand to focus on high- end research work as well as clinical imaging. Drawing on a successful track record of University research, CAMRI delivers MRI research expertise and resources to leading commercial and government organisations.

Our team has extensive experience in MRI, including the management (as principal investigators), performance and analysis (as core laboratory) of large scale international clinical trials.

Our pool of consultant radiologists are highly qualified in their specific areas of interest. Their combined experience covers all areas of MR imaging, and CAMRI's comprehensive range of software allows post processing analysis in specialty imaging.

Established in 2004, we have a close collaboration with Siemens and enjoy ready access to the latest equipment and software developments for advanced research and clinical protocols.

We work with a wide range of clients, including hospitals, private referrers and researchers. We have been involved in several worldwide clinical trials.

CAMRI is Accredited by International Accreditation New Zealand and is an Affiliated Provider for Southern Cross Healthcare and a health services provider for the Accident Compensation Corporation.

Our history

This is the first MRI venture in New Zealand to focus on high-end clinical and research work as well as routine clinical imaging. Being a research facility, the installation performs to much higher specifications and tolerances than standard installations.
